Mr. Marneweck has 35 years of master planning, infrastructure, architectural design and practical implementation experience in diverse projects throughout the African sub-continent. These range from social and housing projects, hospitals and clinics to industrial and commercial, urban re-generation and conservation and master planning to private residences and estates, golf course, resort, leisure and ecotourism developments.
Due to his outdoor lifestyle and passion for nature and conservation, he has developed great and unique knowledge, experience expertise and vision for the symbiosis between all the elements (from ecosystems and flora and wildlife and logistics, to sustainable design in collaboration with local population and authorities, environmental specialists, to the final investor, operator and guest experience ) that play a role in producing great sustainable ecotourism projects from site selection to infrastructure design, master planning, architectural design, cost control and implementation.
He has consulted to the Peace Parks foundation and SANP on the Kgalagadi Gemsbok Park, Kruger Park re-structuring and planning and selection of private and development sites within the reserves and designed and built 47 private and commercial resorts and game lodges throughout Southern Africa, many in remote and sensitive areas.
He has recently developed from greenfields, a 38 thousand hectare private game reserve and communityupliftment and training project in Botswana, with the re-introduction of rhinos, wild dogs, elephant and lions to the Southern Tuli Block and resulting in the preservation of important Botswana heritage and archeological sites and a large part of the pristine ‘Anna-branching’ section of the Limpopo River.
